Abstract

Various pathologies directly related to the inguinal canal remain among the most common conditions in pediatric surgery. Their high incidence encourages the search for new anesthesia methods that consider the individual characteristics of each patient. This review provides an overview on a relatively new method of inguinal canal anesthesia: the spermatic cord block. The authors also propose a modified block technique that expands the applicability of this anesthesia technique.
