Start submissionAuthor Guidelines
Dear colleagues!
When preparing manuscripts for publication in the journal “Healthcare of Tajikistan”, authors are requested to follow the guidelines adopted by our journal. These guidelines are based on the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation and on the “Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals” developed by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (www.ICMJE.org).
CONDITIONS FOR SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS
- Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the online form at zdrav.tj or by e‑mail to zdravoh.tj@mail.ru. The file uploaded to the system must be in Microsoft Word format (*.doc, *.docx, *.rtf).
- The journal accepts manuscripts written in Tajik, Russian or English.
- Only original materials that have not been previously published and do not violate the copyright of others are considered. Each article submitted to our editorial office must be checked in our Antiplagiat system. The uniqueness of the text of the original article must be at least 70%, for a review article at least 50% and it is paid. The author does not accept reports on the verification of submissions. If a significant part of the text of the manuscript sent to Healthcare of Tajikistan is found in other printed and electronic publications, the article is removed from publication.
- Publication of the same article in Russian and English will have identical metadata. Submission of an English‑language version of an article previously published in another language is regarded as self‑plagiarism and will lead to withdrawal of the paper.
- The manuscript must be accompanied by an official cover letter from the institution where the work was carried out, signed by the head of the institution and stamped with the institutional seal. For dissertation‑based articles this fact must be stated in the letter (A template is available on the journal’s website).
- The article must also be accompanied by a letter of transmittal (a template is available on the website). This letter informs the administration of the institution about the manuscript and motivates the authors to clearly formulate the aim and the target audience of the publication.
- All authors are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided. The content of the submitted material does not necessarily reflect the views of the Editorial Board.
- Manuscripts that do not comply with the editorial guidelines will not be accepted and the authors will be notified. All correspondence is carried out exclusively by e‑mail.
GUIDELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
1. The manuscript should be submitted in Russian or English and formatted in MS Word using the Times New Roman font, size 14, with 1.5 line spacing. Margins should be set as follows: top - 2.0 cm, bottom - 2.0 cm, left - 3.0 cm, right - 2.0 cm. All pages must be numbered consecutively, beginning with the title page.
2. The length of a full original article, including all sections (abstract, figures and references), must be a minimum of 10 pages and a maximum of 20 pages; review articles - a minimum of 15 pages and a maximum of 30 pages; articles describing clinical case reports - a maximum of 10 pages; short communications - 3-5 pages; conference proceedings reviews - a maximum of 10 pages.
3. The text should not be overloaded with excessive illustrative material (up to 5 tables, up to 5 figures). Tables, graphs, and figures must be embedded directly in the body of the article. Tables and figures must also be submitted as separate files. These must be clearly recognizable and in JPEG/BMP/GIF/TIFF format with a resolution of at least 365 dpi; the resolution for graphics must be at least 600 dpi. The use of vector graphics is encouraged. All graphic material (figures, graphs, diagrams, photographs) should be labelled as "Figures", numbered consecutively, and accompanied by captions. Table titles and figure captions must be in both Russian and English. Row and column headings and notes to tables and figures must also be provided in Russian and English. The Editorial Board evaluates illustrations for relevance, clarity, aesthetics, proportionality, readability and originality (a template is available on the website).
The manuscript must include:
- Title page
- Abstract
- Introduction
- Material and methods
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- References
- Author information in Russian and English
- Information on funding sources, conflicts of interest and acknowledgements
- Author contributions (for multi‑author manuscripts)
- Title page must contain:
- UDC
- Code and name of the scientific discipline;
- Title of the article;
- Authors’ surnames and initials;
- Name of institution;
- Abstract.
The title should be concise, informative and accurately reflect the content. If possible, include keywords capturing the article's essence, preferably at the beginning of the title. Avoid abbreviations unless they are widely accepted.
When translating the title into English, do not use transliteration from Russian except for proper names.
The name of the institution is given in full, nominative case, with location (city, country). All affiliations relevant to the study must be indicated; if authors come from different institutions, superscript numbers are used to link each author to the correct institution.
Only standard symbols and abbreviations should be used. Frequently recurring terms may be abbreviated; at first mention the full term is given, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
- Abstract
The abstract is the primary source of information in domestic and international databases indexing the journal and must accompany every article regardless of type. Abstracts of original research (200–250 words) must be structured and include: “Objective”, “Materials and methods”, “Results”, and “Conclusion”. Abstracts of short communications, reviews and case reports (≤ 150 words) should be unstructured.
- Keywords: up to six.
Information in English must include:
- Title of the article;
- Authors' surnames and initials.
- Surnames should be spelled as they appear in foreign passports or previous English-language publications, otherwise use the BGN/PCGN transliteration standard;
- Name of the institution (without abbreviations) where each author works;
- The name of the institution must be given in the nominative case, including the location of the institution (city, country), and must match the name as it appears in Scopus. In the case of multiple authors, a numerical index should be provided for each surname and the corresponding institution;
- Abstract in English;
- The English version of the article abstract must be fully consistent in meaning and structure ("Objective", "Materials and methods", "Results", "Conclusions") with the Russian version and be grammatically correct in English.
- Keywords: up to six;
- The keywords must correspond in pairs in both Russian and English. The Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) thesaurus of the US National Library of Medicine, as adopted in Index Medicus, should be used for the selection of keywords in English.
We recommend that authors verify the English name of their institution on https://grid.ac.
When translating titles, abstracts and keywords, terms corresponding to the English MeSH/EmTree terms should be used. The service https://meshb.nlm.nih.gov/MeSHonDemand is a useful tool for checking the correspondence.
Please ensure the correctness and currency of your personal profiles in Scopus and ORCID. Responsibility for accurate spelling of names and affiliations in both languages rests with the corresponding author and must be agreed upon by all co‑authors before submission (Title page template available on the website).
- Introduction
Provide a brief review of the literature on the topic, justifying the relevance of the study and clearly stating its objective. Cite only facts and hypotheses relevant to the article, with references to recent research (preferably within the last 10 years).
- Material and methods
State where and when the study was conducted; describe the study population, inclusion/exclusion criteria, study design (cohort, prospective, randomised, retrospective, etc.) and research methods (standard methods in brief, new or modified methods in detail). Previously published methods should be cited. Do not include confidential patient information. Authors must obtain patient consent for possible publication of their data and guarantee confidentiality in print and online.
Describe the statistical analysis in detail at the end of the section, including the statistical software package and version.
- Results
Present findings logically in text, tables or figures, avoiding repetition. Highlight the most significant findings and do not hide unexpected results. Visualise results wherever possible.
- Discussion
Provide a convincing interpretation of the results, highlighting their scientific novelty and comparing them with relevant data. Results and discussion should not be combined.
- Conclusion
Conclusions must be concise and clearly formulated, addressing the aims and objectives of the study, summarising the main findings and indicating their novelty and practical significance.
- References
The journal uses the Vancouver citation format, which requires the source to be cited in square brackets within the text, followed by a list of references in the order in which they appear in the article (NOT alphabetically). Bibliographic information must be current, reliable, and comprehensive, with references to primary sources. The reference list should include mainly works published within the last 10 years. Original articles (clinical trials, experimental studies, case reports) should not cite more than 20 sources and literature reviews should not cite more than 50 sources. Authors' self-citations should be limited to 1-2 of their own works.
If there are up to six authors, list them all; for larger groups of authors, list the first six and add "и др." for Russian references or "et al." for foreign references.
Authors' surnames and publication details of articles and books must be transliterated; http://www.translit.ru is recommended.
Each scientific fact must have its own citation [1]. If there is more than one fact in a sentence, give a citation for each one (not just one at the end). If there are several citations, list them in chronological order [2, 5-7]. Do not cite works that do not appear in the reference list, and vice versa: every source cited in the text must appear in the reference list. Avoid including abstracts, dissertations, textbooks, manuals, GOST standards, website information, statistical reports, or articles from newspapers, websites, and blogs in the reference list. If you must cite such materials, place the information in a footnote rather than in the reference list.
If a cited item has a DOI, include it at the end of the reference.
The responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of all references - and for the correct citation of primary sources - rests with the authors (see the journal website for an example of reference list formatting)
- Author information (in Russian and English)
At the end of the article, provide detailed information about each author in both Russian and English: full surname, first name and patronymic; an email address and ORCID are mandatory. The maximum number of authors is six. (see example of information about authors on the journal's website)
Information on corresponding author should include the following: full name in Russian and English, email address and mobile phone number.
- Information on funding sources, conflicts of interest and acknowledgements (A sample format for funding and conflict of interest statements is available on the website).
- Information on authors' contributions (for manuscripts with more than one author) (A sample statement on authors' contributions is available on the website).
